Synopsis

Based on the real-life story of baseball player, Jim Morris, a promising young ball player is forced to drop out of the minor leagues because of an injury to his arm. Twelve years later, Jim (Quaid) is coaching baseball in high school. When his team wins the championships, his players and friends convince him to try out for a professional team and fulfill his own dream.

With an arm that can still pitch baseballs at over 90 miles per hour, he is signed to a minor league team. By September 1999 he is recruited to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
